Formal requirements

On this page the formal requirements of the following documents can be readable:

 

Reports must be submitted in 1 bound hard copy and 1 electronic version to the Dean Office.

Reports can only be accepted or sent for review if the supervisors’ signature are on them.

The cover page of the report contains the name of the Doctoral School, the number of the research seminar, the name of the PhD student as well as the supervisor(s), and also the Institute.

Reports must be written in size A/4 with a maximum font size of 13 and line spacing 1.5, minimum 20 and maximum 30 pages.

Tables and figures should be sequentially numbered and titled. A reference list must be prepared, the reccomend format is the next: [Number] AUTHOR(S): Title, Place, Date, Page

The doctoral dissertation is a summary work presenting the Candidate’s objectives, new scientific results (theses) – description of the professional work, literary knowledge, research-reative methods. Dissertation can be written in Hungarian or in a foreign language approved by the Doctoral Council.

The cover page of the dissertation contains the nem of the author and the supervisor(s), the name of the Doctoral School and its Head, the place and date of the preparation, the DOI identification number. The supervisor makes a 3 pages recommendation to the dissertation which extends to the Candidate’s publication accomplishment. The dissertation furthermore contains a content list, the theses and a reference list, too. In the reference list must be indicated also the Candidate’s scientific papers. Moreover a Hungarian and a foreign language summary in 2 pages must be attached. Appendix (e.g. photo, document collection, etc.) may belongs to the dissertation.

The dissertation to be defended must be submitted in 5 bound hard copies and in electronic format. The regulations can be found in the University Doctoral Regulations 16. §.

The dissertation must be given to two pre-reviewers before the Pre-Defense as follows:

  • The pre-reviewers ask by the Chair of the Scientific Doctoral Committee after consultation with the supervisor;
  • the pre-reviewer presents his opinion on the Pre-Defense;
  • the Scientific Doctoral Committee appoints the reviewer committee following the Pre-Defense;
  • the pre-reviewers and the posterior reviewers may be the same persons.

The Candidate must also submit a thesis booklet electronically and in 50 copies.
The thesis booklet of the doctoral dissertation contains the followings:

  • a brief summary of the research task in the I. part;
  • the II. part contains a brief description of the examinations, experiments, the methods of the literature review and other knowledges, the exploration and utilization of sources;
  • in the III. part contains the brief summary of the scientific rsults, their utilization and the possibilities of the utilization. Utilization can be the direct or indirect practical application, or promotion the internal development of the discipline, or enriching other disciplines with new knowledge;
  • in the IV. part must be described the reference list of the topic;
  • In case of a dissertation or printed work using the results of a collective research work, the Candidate give a detailed and accurate description of own work in the collective work. Primary thesis must be communicated to the other members of the team who state at the same time that the results described in the thesis are accepted as the work of Candidate.
